The Annual Meeting for the American Academy of Pediatrics will be held October 2008 in Boston. Dr Marilyn Escobedo will be facilitating 2 presentations:
- NRP: Climbing the Olympic Hill to Better Evidence, Implementation, and Outcomes (Friday, Oct 10 from 8am-5pm)
- Neonatal Career Development Seminar (Sunday, Oct 12 from 11:15am-12:45pm)
Dr Shahab Noori will be presenting the workshop: "Introduction to Functional Echocardiography for the Neonatologist" to be held Sunday, October 12th from 1pm-4:30pm.
Two abstracts were accepted for poster presentation:
- Ibuprofen Treatment Results in Higher Patent Ductus Closure Rates in Very Low Birth Weight Females Versus Males (Kimberly Ernst, MD; Karen Corff, ARNP; Brianna Bright, MA; and Kris Sekar, MD)
- Wrapping Intervention vs. Mattress for Prevention of hYpothermia Study (WIMPY) (Parker Simon, DO; Douglas Dannaway, MD; Marilyn Escobedo, MD; Anne Wlodaver, MD; Lorry Krous, MD; Brooke Burks, ARNP; Caitlin Thi, ARNP; and Jennifer Milam, RN)
Whitney Cline, DO, will be presenting a case of Neonatal Teratoma at the Oklahoma Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics Meeting in OKC in August.

Congratulations to Dr Mary Anne McCaffree who was elected to the American Medical Association's Board of Trustees in June 2008.
Faculty and Staff Accomplishments
Congratulations to Drs Lorry Krous, Douglas Dannaway, and Andrea Willeitner who recently received word that they had passed their Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Board Exam. Dr Jami Lewis also received word that she passed the General Pediatric Board Exam.

Mike McCoy, ARNP, has been accepted as a fellow for the March of Dimes.

Dr Anne Wlodaver has been chosen for this month's Top Hat award. Thanks to all the winners for their hard work.
