If your new baby needs special care, rely on us. OU Children's Physicians Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine serves as a statewide referral center for premature and sick newborns. Our neonatologists coordinate medical services with our other children's specialists.
Advanced training and years of experience help us stabilize newborns with life-threatening conditions, such as infections or breathing disorders. We can coordinate care of premature babies and those born with a serious illness. Many children with birth defects, critical injuries or serious diseases who can't be helped elsewhere come to OU Children's Physicians.

Our specialists practice in the OU Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center, Women’s & Newborn Pavilion. This facility includes:
24/7 in-house neonatology coverage
18 pre-delivery beds for women with high-risk pregnancies
16 labor and delivery (LDR) and 3 operating rooms
6 urgent care rooms for labor and delivery
40 mother-baby unit beds
An 88-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
A dedicated obstetrical anesthesia program
